Joe’s extensive travels have led him to explore the best coffee producing countries in the world. Joe knows that each country is set apart by its unique bean flavor profile. Whether it the powerful dried cherry flavor of Ethiopia or the light citrus of Mexico, Joe explores to find the best representation that each country has to offer.
Flavor Explored
Once Joe has reached his destination, the search begins. Traveling by foot, horse, or Jeep, Joe explores the many coffee farms in search of the best representation of flavors that country has to offer. A close working relationship with farmers and brokers is in place to select beans that are graded to have very low defects, use very little pesticides and are grown using “environmentally safe” practices to protect our natural resources.
Quality Discovered.
Once the bean has been selected it takes great craft to coax out its delicate flavors. Our master roaster has spent 30 years carefully studying and crafting the flavors of these fine beans. He knows that each country produces specialized flavors, and it takes the delicate combination of roasting intensity, time, temperature, and a joy of the craft, to bring the finest flavors from each bean.

Joe studies each country’s traditional craft where they combine regional flavors with locally grown coffee to create a truly indigenous experience. Joe works with the folks back at the shop to refine the techniques that allow us to bring these flavors to our customers. He finds great joy in sharing these inspirations with everyone.
