There are some nights when coffee is just coffee.
And then there are nights when you put on a superhero costume, head to the zoo, serve gallons of coffee to a crowd of amazing people, give away prizes, settle a Marvel vs. DC debate, and somehow end the night still smiling.
Zoo Rendezvous was one of those nights.
Ramblin’ Joe and his crew were thrilled to once again show up for Zoo Rendezvous, the Memphis Zoo’s biggest annual fundraising event, and this year, we decided to have a little extra fun with it. The theme? Superheroes.
Naturally, Joe and his crew were ready for the mission.
Keep the crowd caffeinated, have a great time, and help support an incredible Memphis institution.
And judging by how quickly we went through coffee, it’s safe to say Memphis was ready for its superhero caffeine fix.
We poured gallons and gallons of coffee throughout the evening, keeping guests warm, energized and moving as they made their way around the event. From the first cup to the last, we loved getting to see familiar faces, meet new people and be part of such a special night for the Memphis community.
Because that's one of our favorite things about events like Zoo Rendezvous. They aren't just about showing up. They're about showing up for Memphis.
A Night of Coffee, Community & Giving Back
Zoo Rendezvous is an important night for the Memphis Zoo and the community that supports it. It brings people together for an evening of fun while helping raise money for the zoo and the work it does year-round.
For a Memphis-born coffee company like Ramblin’ Joe’s, being part of that kind of night feels right at home.
We've always believed that coffee has a way of bringing people together. It gives people a reason to slow down, start a conversation, celebrate something or simply enjoy a moment together.
And at Zoo Rendezvous, there were plenty of reasons to celebrate.
The atmosphere was full of energy, people were dressed up, the zoo was buzzing, and our team got to do what we love most: serve happiness, one cup at a time.
Of course, we couldn't come empty-handed.
The Superhero Prize Patrol
A superhero needs a few gadgets, right?
Our version just happened to involve coffee, prizes and gift cards.
Throughout the night, we gave away tons of prizes to attendees, adding a little more excitement to an already fun evening.
But one of our favorite giveaways was tied directly to a battle that had been happening on Instagram.
Because when you're creating superhero-themed drinks, there's really only one way to do it:
Marvel vs. DC.
The Great Marvel vs. DC Coffee Showdown
For our seasonal drinks, we decided to turn two of our favorite flavors into superhero-inspired contenders.
On one side of the battle was our MARVEL-ous Salted Maple.
On the other was our D-elicious C-aramel Salted Pumpkin.
Two drinks. Two sides. One very serious question:
Which one is better?
We took the battle to Instagram and let our customers decide.
Our followers got to cast their votes in our Instagram poll and officially choose their favorite drink in the ultimate Marvel vs. DC showdown.
And because we're all about making coffee a little more fun, we decided to reward one lucky voter with a $50 Ramblin’ Joe’s Coffee gift card.
After all, if you're going to participate in a superhero coffee battle, there should probably be a prize at the end.
Whether you were Team Marvel and couldn't resist the sweet, maple-inspired flavor or Team DC and were all about the caramel-meets-pumpkin-spice combination, we loved seeing everyone get involved.
And let's be honest — we're still not sure Memphis is ready to agree on which side won.
More Than Just a Night at the Zoo
For our team, Zoo Rendezvous was more than just another event on the calendar.
It was another opportunity to be part of the Memphis community, support an organization doing incredible work, and have a whole lot of fun while doing it.
That's something we've always loved about being Ramblin’ Joe's.
Our roots are in Memphis, and we're proud to be part of a city where people show up for one another. Whether we're serving coffee at a community event, supporting a local organization, giving back to people in need or simply handing someone their favorite drink through the drive-thru, we believe there's always an opportunity to make someone's day a little better.
Zoo Rendezvous gave us the perfect excuse to do all of that while wearing superhero costumes.
We’ll take it.

By the end of the night, we'd served countless cups of coffee, handed out plenty of prizes, settled a few very passionate superhero debates, and made a whole lot of memories.
And while our capes may have come off when the night was over, our favorite part of the evening stayed with us:
Getting to be part of something bigger than coffee.
