This past weekend, the Ramblin’ Joe’s crew packed up the coffee gear and headed to the incredible Grind City Coffee Xpo at Crosstown Concourse in Memphis. The event brought together the heart of the local coffee community including - roasters, cafés, bakers, artists, and makers - all under one roof for a full day dedicated to celebrating coffee in every form.
From the moment the doors opened, the energy was unmistakable. Vendors from across Memphis filled the space with incredible aromas, fresh brews, and creativity. Local roasters showcased their latest beans, small businesses shared house-made coffee syrups, and bakeries and restaurants brought along sweet and savory treats perfect for pairing with a great cup of coffee. Even local artists joined the celebration, displaying everything from coffee-inspired artwork to handmade pottery designed specifically for coffee lovers.
Our Booth: Coffee, Learning, and a Little Bit of Fun
At the Ramblin’ Joe’s booth, we wanted to bring more than just great coffee... we wanted to give visitors a full coffee experience.
Throughout the day, guests stopped by to enjoy free samples of our Iced Irish Coffee, our signature drink for March inspired by Joe’s recent travels. Smooth, refreshing, and just the right amount of indulgent, it quickly became a favorite among attendees.
We also hosted a raffle for a $100 Ramblin’ Joe’s café gift card, giving visitors the chance to win a future coffee adventure on us. The raffle brought plenty of excitement and friendly conversation as guests dropped their entries and explored everything else happening at the Xpo.
Latte Art Lessons Every Hour
One of the most popular parts of our booth was our free latte art lessons, held every hour on the hour. Coffee lovers of all skill levels gathered around to learn the basics of steaming milk and pouring classic patterns.
For many guests, it was their first time trying latte art, and seeing the moment someone pours their first heart or leaf never gets old. Watching people discover just how much craft and creativity goes into every cup is exactly why we love events like this.
Wok Roasting Demonstrations
As a roaster, we also wanted to show people a little bit of what happens behind the scenes before coffee ever reaches the café. Throughout the day we hosted live wok roasting demonstrations, giving attendees a hands-on look at the roasting process.
The demonstrations highlighted how green coffee transforms through heat, time, and technique into the aromatic beans we all know and love. It was a great opportunity to talk about roasting, flavor development, and the journey coffee takes from farm to cup.
Celebrating the Memphis Coffee Community
Events like the Grind City Coffee Xpo remind us just how vibrant the coffee scene in Memphis truly is. From talented roasters to creative artisans and passionate small business owners, the community that surrounds coffee is just as important as the drink itself.
